NO wonder 10-year-old Yinka Sodipo is wearing a beaming smile.
The youngster has plenty to be proud of.
The Crowstone School, Westcliff, pupil ran for East Anglia in the national finals of the Independent Schools’ Association’s athletic finals in Birmingham — and came home clutching gold and silver medals.
Yinka won the 75 metres and was runner-up in the 150m after triumphing at both distances in the regional finals earlier.
And the girls at Crowstone didn’t miss out when it came to athletics glory.
At the regionals the year five relay team — comprising Bronte Huckett, Lilly MacGregor, Amy Harrington and Jessica Dyer — took runners-up spot for silver glory.
Bronte won the long jump silver and Lilly the bronze in the girls 75 metres.
More news and pictures on successes at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium for St Hilda’s and Alleyn Court Schools will be published by The Echo later in the week.
