SOUTHEND AC’s relay teams dominated the Essex Championships on their home track.

The Seasiders won nine relay medals in total including three gold medals.

The under-17 women were particularly dominant winning gold in both the 4x100m and 3x300m with Sophie Rickner and Shereen Raouf in both winning teams.

Joining that duo in the 4x100m team was Melody Tillbrook and Jasmine Ruscoe as they clocked 50.7s. Their B team of Tasmyn Erysthee, Victoria Staines, Natasha Graham and Gabriella Pearson won bronze with 53.3s.

Pearson joined forces with Rickner and Raouf to win gold in the 3x300m (2m 10.7s).

Also striking gold was Southend’s under-15 4x100m girls team of Emmi Goldenberg, Eloise Lewis, Brogan Ravenall and Elena Iruskieta.

Lewis and Iruskieta then joined forces with Iona Doyle to win silver in the 3x300m (2m 18.3s).

Finishing a place behind was Chelmsford AC’s B team that included Eastwood Academy’s Phoebe Jeffrey and FtizWimarc’s Jessica Down.

Southend’s senior men – Greg Goodrem, Jake King, Oliver Best and Lee Dollard – won the 4x100m silver medal (43.2s), as did the under-13 boys 4x100m squad of Joseph Hudson, Oskar Legg, Ethan Stoner and Brayden Flannery.

Both the under-15 and under-13 boys Southend 3x800m teams won silver medals.

Matthew Norris, Zachary Wing and Toby Wright were the medallists in the under-15 boys category and Joseph Hudson, Ethan Bird and Ethan Stoner winning the medals in the under-13 boys.

Basildon AC had success in the handful of individual events held at Garon Park.

Ollie Cantwell won the under-17 men’s 1,500m steeplechase in a new PB of 4m 54.9s while Emily Bullis was a comfortable winner in the under-20 women’s steeplechase, finishing just outside her PB in 7m 24.7s.

Southend AC youngster Leslie Anaglavi won the under-11 boys 600m (1m 45.6s) and was second in the 75m (11.8s) while Basildon AC's English under-17 800m champion Isobel Ives may soon have some competition...from her own family.
Younger sister Abigail, who is just an under-11 athlete, won the gold medal for 600m on Saturday, beating a whole host of boys her age in the process, clocking 1m 55.4s.
