THREE teenagers were robbed as they walked outside a railway station.
British Transport Police have just released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident which happened outside Thorpe Bay station.
Detective Constable David Bishop, the investigating officer, said: “Shortly before 1.30pm the three victims, all aged between 14 and 15, were in a small park in front of the station when they were approached by a man.
“He asked them what they had before demanding they hand over their mobile phones, jewellery and some cash.
“Fearing for their safety, the victims complied with the man’s demands. In total they were forced to hand over approximately £500 worth of goods.”
Following the incident the man made off across the footbridge and out of the back of the station in the direction of Barnstaple Road.
DC Bishop added: “This was obviously a very intimidating and frightening experience for a group of young boys unsure of how to defend themselves.
“Robberies and incidents of this nature are simply not acceptable. Threatening behaviour towards passengers and the public, particularly those who are young and therefore more vulnerable, will simply not be tolerated.
“I am determined to find the person responsible and am urging anyone with information to come forward.
“We believe the man in the image may also have links to the Upton Park area of east London.”
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on Saturday, December 17, can call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference B2/LNA of 12/01/2012.

If he's from Upton Park forget it, you'll never find him. Be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

1 young man jacked 3 teens – hmmm maybe if the teens pounced on it together they could have done him and come away laughing! What he have a blade or something – why, 15s not that young, 3 of em should have been able to handle it if he didn’t have anything! Knew it’d be East London second I started reading it!

NEVER police around and their clean up rate is poor beyond belief....that is if you can actually get through to someone on the phone. 3 ethnic cousins tried robbing a friend of mine on the train on their way back to London. Once he stood up they backed down....after they had threatened to knife him. This country does not have an efficient police force anymore.
