Southend world record attempt needs 40 nude rollercoaster riders

A WORLD record attempt on Southend seafront in August needs 40 volunteers willing to ride a rollercoaster naked.

The Green Scream at Adventure Island will be the ride and the record attempt will raise money for the Bosom Pals Appeal at Southend Hospital.

The appeal needs £750,000 for two digital mammography machines and to fund the latest x-ray and biopsy equipment as well other improvements at the breast care unit.

Currently the world record is 32, set at Alton Towers in 2004 and the new record attempt in Southend is scheduled for Sunday August 8.

Also it may be ok for this to be done somewhere more secluded like Alton Towers (can close the park) but what privacy will those taking part get at Adventure Island. I can see a sudden increase in the sale of binoculars within the town and the surrounding high ground areas becoming full of pervs...sorry people

Given the cause it is in aid of, I would have been willing to participate, but I'm working all over that weekend. I wish them all the very best, & can I express the hope the Echo prints a special edition to commemorate this?
Oh, given that I'm not a pretty sight even clothed, is anyone willing to donate to Bosum Pals to ensure I stay away & fully dressed??!!

I would be too embarrassed to inflict my less than boyish good looks and saggy bits on the public but good luck to anyone who volunteers.

I think ideas like this are great and for me, the fear of perverts with binoculars is not that significant.

As this is in aid of charity, I hope they get the full complement of 40. If people are embarrassed, they could get permission to wear masks to hide their identity from onlookers.

livelyred, Leigh-on-Sea. Although the park may be closed to visitors during the rollercoaster ride, the media might well be there to cover/report the event. I suppose the organisers and rollercoaster operating staff will also be there.
