Burglars steal TV from summerhouse

POLICE are reminding people to lock up their outbuildings after burglars crept into a summerhouse in Southend.

A key had been left in the lock of a building in Victoria Avenue so the crooks could easily let themselves in.

Once inside they stole a LG 32 ins flat screen television worth about £500.

The house backs onto Priory Park and police believe the burglars may have used this as their escape route.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious should contact PC Suzanne Hellier on 0300 333 4444.

“Anyone with information should call PC Suzanne Hellier at Leigh police station on 0300 333 4444.”

Is Suzanne the only PC available? It would appear that if anyone has any information on all 3 of the Echo’s web page headlines relating to crime today, Tuesday they should telephone her.

I hope she is on call!

what annoys me more, is peoples casual acceptance that if we DONT lock up belongings that are on OUR property, its our fault if some thief comes along with sticky fingers and helps himself. 1. he has intruded on someone elses property without permission, 2. he has taken something that doesnt belong to him, that he hasnt worked for or earned. Yet we are told to lock our things up, still what do we expect, if the police by any chance do catch the thief, the judges slap his wrists and let him off.

Locking outbuildings is an infringement of burglars human rights.
