Former HM Customs building sold to medical supply firm

A DATA centre in Shoebury which used to handle all the UK's VAT returns has been sold to a medical supply firm.

The former HM Customs and Excise centre in Campfield Road has been sold to specialist medical equipment manufacturer Medicart International Ltd.

Staff will relocate to the new premises from their current home in Vanguard Way following the transfer of customs staff to central Southend offices.
