Three men have been arrested following a fight outside a Southend nightlub which left a man with a head injury.

The brawl happened after three men were asked to leave Dick De Vignes club in Warrior Square after arguing with the doorstaff.

They returned a short time later and got into an arguement with the doorstaff at about 2.30am on Saturday.

A 33-year-old man from south London received a head injury and was taken to hospital and is currently at Queens Hospital, Romford, with a serious but not life threatening injury.

Detectives at Southend want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and they are asked to contact CID at Southend Police Station on 0300 333 4444.

The three men, who are all from London, have been released on bail while police carry out their enquiries. A 33-year-old man will answer bail on February 1, while the other two men, aged 30 and 31, will answer bail on March 30.
