A CYCLIST suffered fairly serious head injuries after he was involved in a collision with a van this afternoon.
The incident happened at the junction of Crown Hill and Station Road in Rayleigh at 2.55pm.
The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the incident.
An ambulance spokesman said: “We were called today at 2.55pm to the junction of Crown Hill and Station Road.
“We sent two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance crew.
“The incident was a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a van.
“We treated one patient, the cyclist at the scene.
“The cyclist, a man in his mid twenties, suffered fairly serious head injuries.
“He was taken to Southend Hospital where he is in a stable condition
