PASSERSBY rushed to help after a horror crash in Southend town centre.
A black Honda Civic and a white Mitsubishi Shogun collided at the busy junction of Chichester Road and Southchurch Road just before 9am today.
Southchurch Road was closed at its junction with Warrior Square East and Chichester Road is closed at Essex Street for about two hours, but have now reopened.
Members of the public helped a woman from the Mitsubishi and put her on the pavement outside Frankie and Benny's restaurant.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off the Honda to free its male driver.
