British Transport Police (BTP) officers want to identify a man, after a series of racist stickers were posted on trains in the Southend area last month.

A CCTV image of a man has been released, and officers urge anyone who recognises him to get in contact.

PC Maria Wheele said: "Rail staff cleaning trains the week of Sunday, January 18 found three stickers carrying offensive messages. It is likely the stickers were posted around that time, so passengers travelling between Essex and London that week might have seen something.

"If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV image, please contact BTP."

Anyone with information on this incident should contact British Transport Police, on 0800 405040, or by text, on 61016, quoting reference ESUB/B3 of 5 February 2015.

Information can also be passed to independent charity Crimestoppers, on 0800 555111.
