TWO men have been arrested on a train at Southend Victoria Rail Station on suspicion of robbery.
Robbers raided Frederick James jewellers and pawn brokers in Broadway, Pitsea on Thursday shortly before 12.30pm.
Staff at the store refused to comment on the incident and it is not known how much jewellery was stolen.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Frederick James following reports of a robbery involving the theft of jewellery.
“Officers attended and following enquiries two men were arrested in Southend.
“They have been taken to Southend police station for questioning and enquiries are continuing.
“Anybody who witnessed the incident can call police on 101.”
The men were arrested by Essex Police at 1.45pm leading to the cancellations of the 1.30pm Southend Victoria to Liverpool Street and the 2.55 Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria trains.
