Man pulled into garden and robbed by gang

A MAN was pulled into a garden by a group of yobs who beat him up and robbed him.

The 22-year-old victim was left unconscious after three men attacked him on East Street, Southend at about 5.20am yesterday near Tanners Funeral Directors.

The gang grabbed his bag and pulled him into a garden and repeatedly punched and kicked him, even after they had stolen from him.

They robbed him off his wallet, cash, iPhone 5, credit cards and personal documents.

Investigating officer PC Samantha Winter said: "The men continued to assault the victim after they had stolen from him, so the victim sustained quite a long assault and was left with bruising and grazing and blacked out during the incident."

Police are appealing for information on the suspects.

Two of the suspects are black aged in their mid 20s. One was noticeably slimmer than the other. The other man was white, of stocky build, 5ft 2ins to 5ft 5ins tall, in his mid to late 20s, with ginger or strawberry blond short hair. He had stubble around his face and a freckly face.

All three suspects were wearing grey hoodies.

Anyone with information about this incident or who is responsible is urged to contact Pc Winter at Southend CID on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Absolutely shocking! What is going on in this world?! Hope the man makes a fully recovery physically and mentally. Genuinely hope these scumbags get caught!

There was probably more to it then the story is telling you. i.e the victim knew his attackers.

Well that's interesting, it was only a few days ago that the councillor for Priterwell was slagging off southchurch and westcliff for being rough and making out Priterwell was very different.

It appears to me you know more about this than what is reported here. As to your two points here, No you do not have the right to retribution, other than through the Courts. Self defence at the time of the attack is a different thing.
Your free-for-all attitude is just what is causing all the problems of violence on our streets. Clearly before your generation, we lived in a society where, even among the muggers, if a man went down it was a sign of submission and he was left alone. Todays generation attack in numbers and behave like wild animals when their victim is down. In my book, the horse whip should be returned to it's proper place of education.... Dealing with the ferile yobs !

To be honest it's not new. I'm in my 40s and grew up in Southend. When I was young I knew that if you hit the floor you got up pretty sharpish to stop the boot being stuck in.

It's not right, but it's not new either.
