SOUTHEND’S young people can get the benefit of mentoring from one of their MPs at a careers advice fair.

Rochford and Southend East member James Duddridge will be at the Tickfield Centre, Tickfield Avenue on April 4.

The event is for young people aged 15-25 and runs from 9:30am-midday and also features stalls and guest speakers from South Essex College, Southend Adult Community College and the Job Centre.

Southend Council’s deputy leader, John Lamb, said: “This careers advice fair is a great way for people to find out from a variety of sources how to give themselves the very best chances of being considered by future employers.

"We are very grateful indeed to Mr Duddridge for leading the 60 minute mentor session – the highlight of the event.

“This is a terrific free opportunity to help young people discover exactly what business leaders will look for when they are choosing who to interview and who to hire.”
