A MAN is being prosecuted for driving carelessly without a licence, insurance, or MOT following a three-car pile up.
The crossroads at Thorpe Hall Avenue and Burges Road were closed in all directions for this morning following the collision in thick fog at 9am.
Firefighters and paramedics were also called to the scene, which was still thick with fog when it was being cleared at noon, and all three motorists received treatment for minor neck injuries.
A police spokesman said: “A motorist is being prosecuted for driving without a licence, driving without insurance, driving a car without an MOT and careless driving following a road crash in Thorpe Bay.
“The collision happened when a black Jaguar XJ, a silver Mercedes C180 and a blue Vauxhall Astra struck each other in Thorpe Hall Avenue shortly after 9am on Friday, March 14.
“The drivers of all three cars sustained minor neck injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics.”
