basically it's a dumping ground for, 'rehab', those displaced by recent benefit changes, plus immigration from far and wide...... a glowing example of what happens when you "get tough with the work shy and feckless" and pursue a shambolic ideology of 'cultural diversity'....... in the meantime all those with 'buy to lets' are happy enough....

There's nothing wrong with a bit of cultural diversity, and it has meant some interesting shops and restaurants on London/Hamlet Court Rd, but I do hope it's not going to be viewed by London councils as some sort of low cost dumping ground.

It seems things could go one of two ways over the years, either it will get progressively worse as undesirables move in, or the coastal location and period homes will attract professionals from London as the prices rise beyond any affordability, and there is some sort of Leigh-scenario. Let's hope for the latter...

i don't mind 'a bit' of cultural diversity either, but how many politicians stood up in years past and said "vote for us and we'll pursue an open door immigration policy, your gonna love it !"........ as for 'hope it's not going to veiwed as a low cost dumping ground' i think, with respect, your a bit off the pace, it's been that one way or another for some time and will definately get worse.....

Totally agree. I recommend the Southend Timeline site, if you're feeling nostalgic
