Find the person who did this and remove their licence for life. They are clearly a danger on the road.

Cue all the apologists for reckless driving below.

Drunk driver or drunk pedestrian?

The driver did a runner. I'd say drunk, speeding, uninsured, or unlicensed driver.

... or all of the above.

Probably a careless pedestrian AND a driver without all the docs (insurance, licence etc). It's fairly easy to avoid getting hit whilst crossing the road if one is careful...

This really does show how easy it is for the media to mislead the public.. I happen to know for a fact that this wasn't a hit and run the driver of the car stopped called the police and ambulance stayed with the man and then cooperated with the police entirely where he also underwent a breathalyzer and other tests all of which he passed.. from his own account of what happened backed up by witnesses from the public he was released with no charge, so perhaps in future the Evening echo and Mr Trayner in particular might like to follow there own site rules and not print false malicious stories without having the cold hard facts!!.
