Operation Christmas Child seeks volunteers for Rayleigh warehouse
9:50pm Wednesday 24th October 2012 in Echo News By Emma Thomas
VOLUNTEERS are needed to help disadvantaged children enjoy the magic of Christmas.
Operation Christmas Child, run by Christian organisation the Samaritan's Purse, works through local churches to help families in need in Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia.
Last year, a team of generous volunteers in Rayleigh send 3,628 shoeboxes to Romania including toiletries, gifts, pencils and other bits and pieces.
This year, the warehouse will be set up at Rayleigh Town Cricket Club in Rawreth Lane and will be opening on Friday, November 16.
From 10am until 1pm on the 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30 of November and December 1 to receive and sort shoeboxes.
Anyone that wants to volunteer, or to find out more information, should call Bruce and Linda Smart on 01268 780184.
