Email confusion over 11+ results
6:32pm Tuesday 16th October 2012 in Echo News
PEOPLE awaiting 11+ results on email may not have received them or they may have appeared in their junk mail.
The Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex said on its website today: “Results emails were sent but we have been made aware that some email domains such as yahoo, btinternet and gmail have blocked the emails and some recipients will therefore not have received the email. We are currently looking into this and getting the emails resent to the affected recipients.”
Many parents found that the vital results email had been dumped into the spam section automatically by their service providers last year. Some parents waited for up to a week to get the postal result despite the paperwork being sent out first class on the same day.
As of yesterday there were no reported problems with the post.
One parent told the Echo: “CSSE offer nothing further than a laughable statement, and certainly no apology.”

Yes, it was frustrating, but CSSE gave the results out to me over the phone (I picked a sensible time to try and phone and got through after only a few minutes of trying) and I also had the email by the end of yesterday which is still just about faster than getting them by post.
