Crash on A13 causes traffic chaos

A CRASH on the A13 left motorists facing traffic chaos.

The crash happened early on Friday morning when at least one vehicle is believed to have struck the central reservation at the Five Bells interchange at Basildon.

One carriageway was closed while repairs were carried out but the closures led to queuing traffic across Basildon and on the A127.

Went past this about 30mins ago, and looking at the state of the car, and emergency services on the scene, it looks as if this driver will not get out of it alive. Very badly crushed. It appears it has been in a collision with a lorry.

Is this the same accident as one very early this morning or another one? One lane near where the snack bar is located was shut at 07:00. No sign of any vehicles but the armco was flattened.

A13 about 12 ish we went past 2 lorries and a red van that had been in an accident. the traffic was bad, being diverted along the A128 ( I think) and on the way home traffic was still bad. but nit sure if that was due to the same accident or not.

Just read the report of a man being arrested after a second crash. Not a good day to be on the A13.

Theres never a good day on the A13, any accident has the same effect choas; when the A13 ran through Pitsea 40 years ago and you had to go round the roundabot with the staute on it outside Lloyds bank it was still a crap road, in 30 years time nothing will have changed....all due to the same reasons crap drivers and to much speed.

It will probably end up like the A127, with average speed cameras.
