Man caught driving while banned is jailed

A MAN was jailed for four months after being caught behind the wheel while under a driving ban.
John Sheridan, 28, from Orchard Close on the Smithy Fen traveller site in Cottenham, near Cambridge, was also driving with no insurance.
Sheridan, who has links to the Dale Farm site in Crays Hill, was caught driving a white Ford Focus in Noak Hill Road, Basildon, on July 5.
He pleaded guilty to the offences at Southend Magistrates Court.
He was jailed due to a history of similar convictions, the court heard.
His ban on holding a driving licence was also extended 12 months.
