Woman, 88, grabbed by the throat and robbed in broad daylight in Vange

A VULNERABLE 88-year-old woman has been left shocked and frightened after a heartless robber grabbed her by the throat and stole her necklace and handbag in broad daylight.
The attack happened as the elderly woman walked through the Homebase car park off London Road, Vange, where a man grabbed her around the throat, which knocked her to the ground.
He then stole her necklace and handbag before running off.
Det Con Andy Rowley, investigating officer, said: “Having looked through the CCTV, it is evident that the store was quite busy at the time.
“This man has targeted an elderly, vulnerable woman and left her in a complete state of shock and fright. She is being supported by her family as she comes to terms with what happened to her.
“We’re hoping that someone saw the robbery and comes forward with information so that not only can this man be arrested but to also reassure the victim and others that he is off the streets and
unable to commit a similar offence again.”
The woman suffered a minor head injury and was treated at her nearby home by paramedics.
The attacker is described as white, fairly short in height and was wearing a royal blue top, with possible yellow flashes on it.
Police have only just released details of the attack which happened at about 5.30pm on Tuesday, August 28.

. The problem at her age is that many people of that age go down hill very quickly with the shock to the system. i pray this wont be the case. such a terrible thing to do, if i really put into words what i want to say, i would be banned from the echo for life.

but looking at the British justice system he will get community service and a fine, why can't our older people have to live in fear of these scum bags, first its the government killing them off because they won't keep them warm in the winter and now they can't go out without be in fear. I was always told by my family to respect and help them. I'm only 28 but most of people my age and younger have no respect.
This country has gone to pot and nothing will change until we ourselfs chance it, as the police and government won't.

Show me someone who has been properly hung by the neck until he is dead and then goes on to offend again. I am sure it is deterrent enough for most offenders!
If we did not have to join the Euro, why can we not opt out of the "no death penalty" clause and start to clean up our country.

as for the piece of low life scum. im hoping that he is caught and lets hope he gets a bloody long time put away where he cant hurt anyone else. but he will probably plead the *i had a hard upbringing bulshyte* that they normally come out with. my mum didnt know who my dad was ect. she wouldnt buy me the latest games machine ect. and he will get a soft sentence.
