What gender is the person? How old are they? Are they a criminal or another poor, bewildered pensioner? You have given us no details whatsoever.

No elaboration whatsoever. Why report news if they have no details to report?
And drop the sarcasm.

People cannot get police out to a theft etc. The Police put a Helicopter for an idiot who has took to many pills.... Words never cease to asmaze me. Disgusting Police service yet again.......
Oh, wait, according to you, he was only "an idiot who took too many pills" so we let him die, do we? Funny, the article doesn't explain what he took, why he took it, whether it was accidental or not, but you write him off as an idiot. Something to do with his learning difficulties, was it? How nice of you.
I hope the police never have to put up the helicopter to search for you or your family, as I'm feel sure you wouldn't want to be judged by idiots on this website now, would you?

When a police helicopter is seen to be making a search, a reporter will phone the police press office for details and will often be given the most basic details. Should the story develop it will be elaborated upon, as in this case and further details will then be published. Should the police require help from the public they will contact the press and ask for it.

Perhaps critics of the Echo should wait a while to see if the story becomes more important before commenting negatively.

The Police press office is quite helpful in that respect, so the Echo should have had the details - if they contacted the right person...
