A127 at standstill because of crane trapped under flyover at Nevendon

THE A127 came to a standstill after a crane became trapped under a flyover on the Southend-bound carriageway at Nevendon near Wickford.

Traffic tailed back for miles as police at the scene worked to free the machinary.

Machinary? The Echo will be employing E-Types next. Perhaps they already are!

But at least it is news, think yourself lucky. It could have been an article about a cow not getting hit by a moped!

It probably wasn't 'machinary' to blame at all but E-Types traveling (as he does, allegedly) from camp site to camp site having forgotten to wind his neck in.

Quick, send out the spy car. Be able to fine the crane and all the stationery cars behind it.

has the crane been surrounded by caterpillars?

Nebs - are you really Melissa Hills? Or were all the stationery cars post vans with stamps, envelopes and writing paper in them?

Since when has it been called the flyover at Nevendon. I always thought it was called the Nevendon Interchange.

'beben' should, of course read 'been' but one of those pesky silent b's sneaked in from somewhere.....

Noticing a few of the regular posters who seem fixated by that person who writes on Dale farm threads,

I thought I'd draw attention to the fact that
any mention of that big gate that LEN built on the scrapyard land
always leads to a swift closure of the DF threads.

Happens every time.

Usually, they leave some sort of misleading article from last year, but forbid correction or further comments.

Obviously, they don't like it up 'em, Captain Mainwaring!

You may be right fearsiuil but E-Types, to give him his dues, did warn that the thread was likely to be closed having reached about 300 comments. His argument was that most threads are closed after 200 comments as part of Echo policy.

Good morning fearsiuil,

Having given your mail a little more thought I have to say that I'm not sure whether you are simply pointing out something you see as a misnomer or are inviting comment on Len's gate. I'd have thought that if this gate were of any real significance to the Dale Farm issue then it would have been seen as such long ago by the solicitors acting on behalf of the Travellers. Their track record shows them to be ingenious in their ways when it comes to finding legal loopholes and technicalities with which to delay proceedings so I find it very hard to believe that they would have overlooked Len's gate if it were in any way significant.
What significance do you attach to it ?
