CROWDS received a right royal treat when they watched the prince and princess of Jordan take part in a motorcycle display.

Princess Salma, ten, and Prince Hashem, six, joined the Imps Motorcycle Display Team to perform a jaw-dropping routine.

Spectators at the Orsett Show, in Thurrock, watched in awe as the little royals took part in the show-stopping 30-minute routine.

The young VIPs, whose parents are King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan, have been eager to join the Imps since their dad saw them at the Edin-burgh Military Tattoo, in 2010.

The King was so impressed he invited the group’s founder, Roy Pratt MBE, to Jordan to help set up a similar club there.

The Jordanian royal family continued to support the Imps and the children spent a week training with the group in the UK, culminating with the performance at the Orsett Show.

The king and queen could not attend the event for security reasons, but their children – who are said to be the 44th direct generation descendants of the prophet Mohammed – were watched by bodyguards and nannies.

Princess Salma managed to complete a daredevil five-person crossover stunt on a motorbike.

Roy, 69, said: “They had a whale of a time and did incredibly well, especially considering they’d only had a week’s practice.

“If people could have seen their faces when they finished the routine, it was a picture. They were so pleased.

“They have really bonded with the other children in the group and have made a lot of friends.

“All our members wear white hats, but the Prince and Princess wore special black hats and Salma carried the Jordanian flag.

“We weren’t allowed to announce their appearance be-forehand, but it was read out prior to the performance that they would be joining the team, and the spectators were thrilled.”

Roy, from Heybridge, founded the Imps 41 years ago.

It is made up of children from across Essex and east London.

They practice in Barking and have become famous for their smart red tunics and disciplined routines, which have taken them all over the world.

Roy was able to take a few members of the Imps on his visit to the plush Raghaden Palace in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

He said: “Going to the palace was an amazing experience.
