A CYCLIST was left severely injured after going through a car windscreen during a crash on a busy road.
The incident happened just before 5pm Wednesday at the junction of Stanway on High Road, Laindon, when the male cyclist collided with a blue Renault Clio car.
The impact was so hard, the biker went through the front windscreen and into the car, meaning he had to be cut out of the wreckage by two units of firefighters from Basildon.
Police closed the road between Victoria Avenue and Westley Road and are appealing for witnesses of the crash.
