Conmen have attempted to cheat an elderly couple out of thousands of pounds.
The elderly homeowners were asked to pay an unexpected four figure sum for garden clearance work.
When the works were finished, the victim was told the fee would be significantly more than had been agreed upon.
The unknown suspects accompanied the victims to their bank, who then called the police.
The four figure sum of cash was not handed over.
The incident happened at around 3.45pm on November 13 in Hullbridge.
