A NEIGHBOURHOOD has been “terrorised” by a pack of three huskies whose owner can’t control them, a resident has claimed.

The dogs have already killed at least two cats in Takely Ride, Basildon.

Tigger, 17, was mauled to death by the three dogs on Monday while she was sunbathing on the front doorstep of her owner’s house.

Her owners were out at the time but were informed by neighbours.

Sarah Hogg, 30, who has owned her since she was a kitten, said: “The dogs were being walked past the house by a man who had no control over them.

“They pulled him over somehow and they managed to get onto the drive.

“One of the neighbours heard the barking and she said they were like a pack of wolves in a frenzy who had had the first taste of blood.”

Tigger was killed on the driveway.

Sarah has since been contacted by a number of people who have had similar run-ins with the dogs, including the owner of another dog they attacked.

She added: “The dogs used to be walked in Mopsies Park and apparently they attacked a dog there.

“A neighbour in Takely Ride won’t walk his dog along the footpath behind their house.

“If I had children I wouldn’t walk them past their house.

“The dogs need to be muzzled if they can’t be controlled. They are terrorising us.”

A spokesman for the RSPCA said: “An investigation is now on-going.

“We would like to remind pet owners that they should keep their dogs under control to prevent injury to people and animals. The police and the council can prosecute anyone believed to be breaching the Dangerous Dogs Act. We will now work with the council.”
