NEW litter and dog waste bins have been installed to prevent people from discarding it.

New dual refuse bins have been installed by Castle Point Council at Canvey Island Sea Wall.

The new scheme was the brainchild of Canvey East Ward councillor, Chas Mumford, who worked in conjunction with officers at Castle Point to deliver the project.

Councillor Mumford said “Following complaints from residents about litter and dog poo along the sea wall towards the point I have been successful in getting several new bins installed. The sea wall is a popular destination for walkers and it is important that we make sure it is kept looking clean and tidy.”

Council leader, Colin Riley added “Congratulations to Chas for making a difference. I have charged all of my Councillors to enhance our borough by putting forward positive schemes for residents.

“Dog bags are offered free of charge to residents and are available at collection points.”
