A GROUP of first responders spent their day teaching others the skills that they might require in order to save someone’s life one day.
The Canvey Island First Responders spent a few hours at the library demonstrating and teaching basic life support and first aid skills to anyone who was interested in learning more about what they do.
It was on a first come, first serve basis and proved a success, with even children coming along with their parents for the lesson.
Those who attended got lessons in CPR and how to use deliberators.
The Canvey First Responders are all volunteers who are trained to respond to emergency calls through the 999 system, in conjunction with the Ambulance Service.
