ONE creative student has been awarded the chance to be a mascot at Southend United after winning a design competition.
Hamza Imran, from Hadleigh Junior School, caught the attention of BMW when his school were asked to design the BMW of the future.
Peter Dodson, head of Business at Fairfield BMW Southend, visited the school to present the prize to Hamza. Hamza, who is in Year 5, will have the privilege of being a mascot when Blues host Bolton this weekend.
Headteacher Glenn Moore said: “Our school is very active in our local community and we are always looking for opportunities to work with local businesses. We work hard to provide our students with a range of experiences.”
