A RUNNING group took on a lifesize Monopoly Board during a special London Run.
The Flyers Southend group took part in the “Long Slow Run”, which saw 50 runners
travel to Fenchurch Street Station and run around all the properties which appear on a Monopoly Board.
Each group named itself after one of the Monopoly tokens to take on the route which took them to Whitechapel Road, Park Lane and places representing the ‘Go to Jail’ and ‘Chance’ squares on the board.
Runners managed to snap some photos during a visit the Monopoly-themed toilets at Marylebone Station and one group, playing under the 'Battleship' token name, even went on board HMS Belfast whilst the ‘Boot’ group joined in with an exercise session as part of a Japan Matsuri Festival in Trafalgar Square.
Most runners agreed that the miles sped by while the sights of London were taken in and many runners achieved their longest runs ever.
The group hopes to make the Monopoly Run an annual Flyers event.
