A MAN has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after two people in their sixties were stabbed on Wednesday.
Unemployed Emmanuel Wright, 31, of Corona Road, Basildon, will appear before Basildon Magistrates Court this morning.
He is charged in relation to an incident which occurred just before 9.50pm on Wednesday at a house in Corona Road.
A man and woman, both aged in their 60s, suffered serious but not life threatening knife wounds and are currently in hospital.
Basildon superintendent commander Det Supt Stuart Hooper said: "I would like to reassure the public and say that this was an isolated incident. The victims and the suspect are known to each other.”
