A planning application has been submitted to Castle Point Council for a new launderette at Kings Park Village, off Creek Road, Canvey.

Officers are due to make a decision on the plans in January.

A CHICKEN restaurant has been granted permission to expand the Basildon site where it wants to open a branch.

Basildon Council has approved an application from Nando’s to extend a unit at the Mayflower Retail Park, currently occupied by Pizza Hut.

The expansion will see the building increase from 2,720 sq ft to 3,500 sq ft in size.

LEIGH could soon have another tattoo studio after an application was submitted to convert a shop.

The application to Southend Council has been made to transform Kamusik, a car stereo shop in London Road, into a tattoo studio.

No change would be made to the walls or windows and a waste storage area would be created behind the property.

Comments on the application should be submitted by Tuesday, December 1.

A decision will be made before Thursday, January 7.

AN application has been made for an extension behind a home in Leigh.

The owner of 14 Chapmans Walk has applied to Southend Council to construct the singlestorey extension, which would project four metres beyond the existing rear wall.

Neighbours have until Wednesday, December 9, to comment on the proposal.

A decision is expected from council officers by Monday, December 28.

BILLERICAY Town Council has lodged an objection against a proposal to demolish a house and build a replacement.

An application has been lodged with Basildon Council, seeking permission to build the home at Outwood Farm, in Outwood Farm Road.

A town council planning committee meeting ruled the size of the proposed building exceeded green belt limits.

Basildon Council is due to rule on the application in December.

A GOVERNMENT planning inspector has approved plans for a new family home in Langdon Hills.

Laura Dowsett lodged an appeal after Basildon Council refused plans for a four-bedroom house and garage in Russetts because of concerns neighbouring properties would be overlooked and the development would lead to parking problems.

Planning inspector Simon Warder upheld the appeal, ruling the new property would not harm the area.

PLANS to redevelop land in Westcliff have been put forward.

Ameer Khan has put in a planning application to demolish a summerhouse and garages at 95 Eastwood Boulevard.

Planners at Southend Council will rule over the application within eight weeks.
