Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist received serious injuries in a crash in Basildon.
The accident, involving a red Yamaha motorbike and a white Mercedes Sprinter van, took place at the junction of Courtauld Road and Repton Close at about 1.10pm yesterday.
The motorcycle was travelling along Courtauld Road, heading towards Eastmayne, when the crash took place.
The biker, in his 20s and from the Basildon area, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where he remains.
He has suffered serious life changing leg injuries.
A 22-year-old man from Tilbury was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences.
He has been bailed pending further police enquiries until October 9.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call officers at Laindon traffic unit on Essex Police 101, quoting incident 398 of August 25.
