TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was airlifted to hospital with a life-threatening head injury.
Police were called to Sudburys Farm Road in Little Burstead just before 9.20am this morning with reports a man had been injured.
Officers attended along with paramedics and the air ambulance and a man aged in his 40s was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital.
His condition is described as life threatening.
A 59-year-old man from the Billericay area and a 53-year-old man from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in custody.
A forensic examination of the scene is being conducted and enquiries continue to establish how the man came to be injured.
