A PROSTITUTE and two teenagers have been sentenced to a total of more than 30 years in prison for manslaughter.

Danielle Russell, 26, of St Ann's Road, Southend, along with a 16-year-old from Thurrock and a 17-year-old from Basildon, were found guilty of the manslaughter of Anton Levin, 24, from Dagenham, in Russell's flat on November 19 last year, by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court in May.

The trio returned to the same court today to be sentenced by judge Chrisopher Ball QC.

Danielle Russell was sentenced to 11 years and six months in jail for her part in the manslaughter.

Each of the teens received a sentence of ten years and four months.

DCI Simon Werrett, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "This was another unnecessary death linked to gang activity in Essex.

"These defendants have never any shown remorse for the attack and the needless loss of life.

"I am pleased they have been given lengthy custodial sentences, taking them off the streets of Essex.

"Hopefully Mr Levin’s family can now move on with their lives.”

Russell was also sentenced to eight years in custody for conspiracy to rob Mr Levin and a further eight years for conspiracy to inflict grievous bodily harm (GBH) on Mr Levin's friend Abdullatif Abdulkadir, 24.

Russell's sentences will run concurrently, meaning she will spend 11 years and six months locked up.

The 16-year-old from Thurrock was sentenced to a further five years on licence on his release from prison, the point of which will be determined by parole officers.

He also received eight years for conspiracy to commit GBH, with a further four years on licence, and six years and four months for conspiracy to rob, with a further two years on licence.

All sentences will run concurrently.

The 17-year-old from Basildon received a five year licence on top of his manslaughter sentence, plus eight years and four months in custody for conspiracy to commit GBH, with four years on licence, and another eight years and four months for conspiracy to rob, with three years on licence.

Again, all his sentences will run concurrently.
