A MAN was slashed across the face while waiting at a bus stop with his girlfriend.
Police were called to The Broadway in Pitsea at about 4pm yesterday afternoon after the man was attacked in the bus shelter opposite the Subway sandwich shop.
The victim, believed to be aged between 25 and 30 years, was stood with a woman who was pushing a buggy, when a man approached him from behind and slashed him across the face.
The scene of the attack is currently cordoned off with police tape and the bench of bus stop had been covered over with sheeting, while local officers await forensics teams.
