A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital after being found wandering on mudflats off Leigh.

Fishermen raised the alarm after spotting the 13-year-old boy on the foreshore between Bell Wharf and Two Tree Island, Leigh, at about 8am.

The RNLI hovercraft rescued the teen and brought him ashore, where he was handed over to the police and ambulance service.

He was taken to hospital, where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
