A HOMELESS charity has opened a furniture shop to boost its finances.

Harp has opened up at 420 London Road, Westcliff, and is seeking donations of good quality second-hand furniture including beds, wardrobes, sofas, bedside tables, tables and chairs to sell in the shop to raise much-needed funds.

The charity is also looking for more volunteers to help out in its other shops.

A volunteer information day has been arranged for tomorrow, where more details about shop volunteer roles will be available.

Tony Dunn, from Harp, said: “Our charity shops are very important funding contributors in helping towards Harp’s day-to-day running costs and we always need goods to sell, so please keep your donations coming.

“Also, if you have any hours to spare and would like to help out in our shops, then we would like to meet with you on Friday June 20, so please pop in and see us.”

The drop-in event will be held at the Savs building in Alexandra Street, Southend, from 9am to 1pm. For information contact Tony Dunn on 07896 489622.

If you have furniture to donate, call 01702 334544 to book a pick up.
