Police appeal for information after 16-year-old girl assaulted in Laindon

A 16-YEAR-OLD girl fell and smacked her head on the pavement during a row in Laindon.

The girl, who lives locally, was arguing with the man in Ballards Walk between 9pm and 10pm on May 30.

During the row he fell and hit her head on a concrete step, suffering cuts to her legs and a bruised head.

A 17-year-old boy from Lancashire was arrested the day after the incident on suspicion of assault.

He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until Monday, July 14.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

Dc James Freeman, of the Domestic Abuse Crime Unit, said: "I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact me.

“The victim is white, around 5ft 10ins tall, has long plum coloured hair which was tied back and was wearing a white blouse, black jeans and a black coat.

“She was wearing a belt with a large, prominent, yellow and black Batman motif belt buckle which people may remember.”

Her alleged attacker is white, 17-years-old, of slim build, around 6ft 2ins tall.

He had short cropped brown hair and was wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt with a tiger emblem on it.

Dc Freeman added: “The girl was shouting for help. Someone may remember this and I would like them to come forward to help us."
