A MOTORCYCLIST has been left seriously injured following a road crash in Rayleigh on Tuesday.
The collision took place when a red Honda motorcycle and a grey Mini Cooper struck each other at the junction of London Road and Victoria Avenue just after 8.30pm.
The motorcyclist, a man who is aged in his 70s, and is from Rayleigh, was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel after suffering from serious leg injuries.
He is in a stable condition.
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s who is also from Rayleigh, was not injured in the crash.
A section of the road was closed for two hours while the vehicles were recovered and debris cleared away.
Any witnesses to this crash should contact investigating officers at Laindon Road Policing Unit on 101.
