POLICE closed Southend Road in Little Wakering following an accident this afternoon.

The accident, near Morley's Nursery, involved a motorcycle and a blue Ford Fiesta.

The accident happened at 12.30pm.

The road re-opened after ambulance crews took the injured cyclist to hospital.

A police spokesman said the motorcyclist's injuries were "serious but not life-threatening".
