A FLOTILLA of boats has set sail for summer moorings.
About 20 boats travelled from a boatyard in Great Wakering, headed for their spots on the Southend foreshore.
The boats, are kept near East Beach car park over the winter and would usually be launched there.
This year they had to be launched at Wakering because of the closure of East Beach while it is checked for unexploded shells and bombs.
Boatyard manager Steve Adams said: “We had about 32 boats leaving from here over the weekend.
“They travelled around the coast to the foreshore, where they will be moored for the summer.”
