A WOMAN involved in a minor road dispute in Southend later found that her car had been keyed.

The incident, which is being investigated as criminal damage, occurred at Southend Hospital on Sunday, May 18.

The woman was driving into the entrance of the Cardigan Wing car park when she almost had a collision with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian and the woman exchanged words before the driver left and went into the hospital.

After returning back to the vehicle, she was shocked to find that every panel of her car had been keyed. Charity stickers on the car, which relate to cancer charities the owner has raised money for, were also damaged.

Investigating Officer Pc Martin Thacker said: "These have huge sentimental value to her as she has lost friends to cancer and she was understandably upset by this as well as the car damage."

Anyone with information should contact PC Thacker at Southend Neighbourhood policing team on 101.

Who says the person she had the dispute with damaged her car?

It sounds as if she were more concerned with her car stickers that scratches to her car?
Why anyone needs to behave in this manner beggars belief, be it the angry pedestrian or someone else!

Tough luck unless you see the person keying your car or damaging it you have no chance. If the police are able to prove you did it and that person was found guilty you won't get the money to cover the cost of repair. That's a civil action.

The hospital has plenty of cameras around. CCTV is a great thing if the owners of the cameras can be bothered to help. That would teach the perpetrator.

They really need to get some signs up at the hospital, especially at the Carlingford Road end, reminding motorists that there is a 5mph speed limit on the hospital site.

Its not a case of her being more concerned with her car at all but why should she have to be a victim to crimal damage to her car especially at such a place regardless to all your negative comments I think this is disgraceful. ...the stickers on the car are some of her achievements. Basically you are all saying that its her fault? Well I disagree it just goes to show the lack of respect or compassion for people. I personally feel really sorry for her and her family as it wasnt their fault at all. I hope you get who did it and deface something they are proud of!
