First published in Echo News

YOUNGSTERS on Canvey are in for a historical treat.

Award-winning and world-record-holding escapologist, Stuart Burrell, will be visiting the 5th Canvey Air Scouts on Thursday, June 12.

The historian, who comes from Southend, will be demonstrating the history of escapology, which is the practice of escaping from restraints and other traps.

Danny Ferris, who leads the Canvey-based Scout group, said: “It will be quite interactive and the children should be able to take part.”

The 5th Canvey Air Scouts is for youngsters aged three to 13 and meet on Thursdays at Lakeview Hall, in Hilton Road.

The event is on there between 8pm and 9.30pm.
