LIFEBOATMEN rescued a dinghy stuck in a failing wind against the tide.

The Southend RNLI inshore lifeboat came to the rescue of a sailing dinghy at about 5pm yesterday.

The craft appeared to be unable to make headway back ashore as the wind had dropped and the tide was going out.

The lifeboat ensured the sailors got to shore safely.
