9:49pm

Thanks for following tonight's coverage with the Echo and Thurrock Gazette.

9:40pm

Full time: Cray Wanderers 1-3 East Thurrock. Crucial win. Rocks go joint on 42 points with Wingate & Finchley.

9:38pm

9:37pm

Into the last minute and all the fight has left Cray now. Higgins second goal was almost a carbon copy of the Cray goal incidentally.

9:35pm

You could see the relief on the away sides faces after the ball went in. All the outfield players - who were inside their own half - ran to Higgins as one.

9:33pm

This is an outstanding goal. Smith picks up the ball in midfield and looks up to see Higgins alone in the Cray half. He collects the ball after a mistimed header and smashes a low shot into the far corner if the net from a very tight angle. Brilliant goal.

9:32pm

What a goal to win it!!! Sam Higgins!

9:29pm

Eight very nervy minutes left in this one. I wouldn't have predicted this after 20 minutes. The visitors were dominating.

9:28pm

Rocks sub: the ineffective Richmond is replaced by Connor Witherspoon.

9:27pm

Bryant, Higgins and Sammons link up well to win a corner on the right. Visitors preparing a change.

9:25pm

What a chance! Higgins flicks the ball into the path of Smith but he chooses to pass rather than shoot when five yards out! The ball is cleared.

9:24pm

The game has hit a lull. Neither side able to get hold of the ball.

9:21pm

Cray substitution: Fakinos is replaced by Ofon-Acheampong. I hope I have got that right!

9:19pm

9:19pm

Bryant is clean through but he falls over as he knocks the ball to the keeper. Looked very soft from up here and the referee doesn't move. Souls have done better there.

9:18pm

20 minutes to go at the Courage Stadium. Rocks need to show some heart here to grind out the win.

9:15pm

Cray are being penned back now. Rocks need to take advantage of this spell because Wands will come back near the end.

9:14pm

What a move by Rocks. Symons, Gilbey, Smith and Richmond all involved and the ball drops to Higgins. The hot shot scuffs his shot side of the near post! It came to him quickly but what a chance.

9:12pm

Sheehan with a header from a Rocks corner but the keeper palms it away. Stephen lashes in the loose ball but it is cleared.

9:10pm

Sheehan is trying to rally the troops for one final push. They look the less likely at the moment.

9:09pm

Cray press up the pitch and have won a cheap corner. Peddie heads away but the ball is whipped back in and Hughes punches clear brilliantly under pressure.

9:07pm

James-Lewis does very well in midfield but he cannot find the run of Fakinos and the ball runs through to Hughes. Cray are growing into the second half. Have the feeling one goal could end this for them though.

9:04pm

Fantastic move by East Thurrock almost brings a third goal. Symons strides out of midfield and sprays the ball to Higgins who exchanges passes with Richmond and fires inches wide. Really good move that deserved a goal.

9:02pm

Sammons has had a ropey start to the second half. He has given away some sloppy passes. In general though the fullback has had an excellent season along with Stephen. Really industrious full backs.

9:00pm

Cray break and almost find an equaliser! The ball drops to Vines on the edge of the box and he smashes a volley goal wards that has Hughes scrambling. The ball hits the side netting, very good effort.

8:59pm

8:58pm

Smith hasn't scored yet tonight but his team play has been really impressive. Very quick feet for quite a tall striker.

8:57pm

Higgins smashes the ball into the wall. Poor freekick.

8:56pm

Freekick for Rocks in a very good position. Right on the edge of the box Gilbey is clipped. The winger is screaming for a penalty.

8:54pm

Symons smashes the ball wide from 30 yards. Good play between Bryant and Higgins almost sees an opening but the chance is gone.

8:53pm

Stone has a few choice words for Sheehan after he goes down. Referee diffuses the situation.

8:52pm

Cray get us back underway.

8:49pm

Teams are back out. Rocks on the pitch first. Can't see Richmond staying on the pitch much longer if the game continues to sway Cray's way.

8:48pm

Should add Great Wakering Rovers are currently 3-0 up as they edge closer to the Essex Senior League title. Hullbridge are also winning and Bowers & Pitsea are drawing.

8:36pm

Cray Wanderers 1-2 East Thurrock

8:35pm

Really good play down the right between Stavrinou and Fakinos wins Cray a corner. The ball is partially cleared but the loose ball drops to Stavrinou who smashes just over from the edge of the box! Great effort!

8:33pm

The Cray goal came out of nothing and has really thrown Rocks. They are struggling to make any headway up front and Richmond still hasn't had a touch.

8:33pm

So close to an equaliser! Udoji, who has a very good delivery from the right, whips a ball in and it is missed by the dive of Sheehan. It drops to Stone but he miscues his acrobatic volley and Hughes claims.

8:30pm

A big Rocks turn out here today. Great work away fans!

8:29pm

8:28pm

East Thurrock's turn to attack. Gilbey whips in a cross and Higgins flicks it on to Sheehan. However the big centre back can only divert the ball wide.

8:28pm

It's a very deep cross from Udoji and Hughes almost fumbles it under pressure. He claims at the second attempt.

8:27pm

8:26pm

8:26pm

Incidentally Richmond hasn't had a kick first half. Plenty of midfield options on the bench.

8:26pm

Incidentally Richmond hasn't had a kick first half. Plenty of midfield options on the bench.

8:24pm

Rocks need to hold their nerve with ten minutes still to play in the first half. They have dominated this match.

8:23pm

This is route one football but outstanding none the less. Stavrinou spots the run of Vines and plays the ball over the top of Peddie into the striker's path. He takes one touch and drills past Hughes from a tight angle.

8:22pm

It's a goal for Cray Wanderers!!

8:20pm

I should come and see Rocks every week. I don't think they have lost on any of the occasions I have watched them this year!

8:19pm

Another good chance for Rocks. A long flow from Sammons is flicked on by Higgins but Gilbey, who is running onto the loose ball, can only lash over from five yards.

8:17pm

Smith is having one of those games. He is playing really well up front but looks short of luck so far. He is penalised for a tug in the middle of the park.

8:17pm

Best home move of the game. Bird is released on the wing and he squares to Fakinos. His low drive is expertly held by Hughes. Good work from both sides.

8:16pm

8:13pm

Wonderful play by Rocks this. Sammons gets to the byline and flashes a ball into the box. Higgins attempts a flick but he misses the ball and it rolls out on the far side. Rocks looking very comfortable.

8:12pm

Moments after the goal Rocks should have been out of site. A mazy run from Smith sees him reach the edge of the box. He pulls his shot slightly and it rolls inches wide.

8:10pm

It's David Bryant who has doubled the visitors lead. Terrific interplay on the edge of box sees Bryant play in Gilbey. The winger hits into the box and Bryant runs onto the ball to lash home from five yards. Rocks in the driving seat.

8:08pm

Terrific goal for East Thurrock!

8:07pm

Corner is whipped in by Stavrinou but Fitzgerald heads over. Decent chance.

8:05pm

Brilliant burst from Bryant who has been very quiet so far. He bursts into the box and plays in Higgins but his shot arrows over.

8:03pm

Higgins is almost through one on one after a defensive lapse by James-Lewis but Behcet rushes out to clear.

8:02pm

Wonderful drive from Smith seems destined for the top corner but the ball is blocked away by the dive of Behcet. Great save. From the resulting corner Symons slices over.

8:00pm

Mix up between Peddie and Sheehan almost allows Stone in but Simmons get back expertly to clear the danger.

7:59pm

This game is being played at a fast tempo. Rocks break through Smith and Higgins but the latter's through ball is intercepted. Wands break but good hold up play by Stone goes to waste as Hughes rushes out to claim.

7:57pm

7:57pm

Cray have worked their way into the game. They look comfortable in possession but Vines is currently receiving treatment for a tackle with Sammons, who is also getting attention.

7:55pm

Rocks have started this match really well and have been rewarded with that early goal. Meanwhile Fakinos smashes into the side netting for the hosts.

7:53pm

Disaster for Cray. A corner from the left is headed clear but only as far as Symons who fires a shot on goal. It is blocked but only falls to danger man Higgins who makes no mistake from eight yards.

7:52pm

It's a goal and it's Sam Higgins!

7:50pm
