Only Fools and Horses‘props return to the pier: Southend to host exhibition
6:00pm Monday 14th April 2014 in Echo News
THE gold watch which finally made the Trotter family millionaires in the TV sitcom Only Fools and Horses is to go on show on Southend Pier.
The watch is one of many items which will be seen when a film prop, set and costume exhibition returns for a second year on Good Friday.
Other items will include the interior set of the Trotters’ flat, the yellow Reliant Robin van features in the series and costumes worn by Grandad, Uncle Albert, Del Boy, Rodney, Trigger, Marlene and other characters.
The gold watch prop was featured in a 1996 three-part Christmas special, called Time on Our Hands, which saw the Trotters’ fortunes transformed by an antique timepiece.
The exhibition, which runs until May 5, will be opened by Southend mayor Brian Kelly and actor John Challis. Challis, who played Boycie, will be signing autographs, photos and copies of his latest book and posing for photos.
It is open Monday to Friday, from 10am until 5pm and at weekends from 10am until 7pm.
Admission is £2, with family tickets admitting two adults and as many as three children costing £7.
