South Essex got into the sporting spirit for Sport Relief.
Children at Cherry Tree Primary School, in Church Road, Basildon, headed off from the starting line on Friday for a mini-mile round their school.
Parents were also invited in from making cake and cups of tea at a coffee morning and donating money to help the initiative, which helps children across the UK.
Youngsters at Thundersley Primary School, in Hart Road, put on the lycra and running shoes before jogging over to Seevic College, in Kiln Road, to run their mile.
Children at the King Edmund School, in Rochford, watched their teachers attempt some “outrageous” moves with their version of the BBC hit show Let’s Dance for Sports Relief.
They also held small races and activities for children to get involved in.
