Pedestrian treated for injuries after road traffic collision in Westcliff

A WOMAN was treated for minor injuries after she was in collision with a car in Westcliff on Tuesday evening.

A police spokesman said: “A road crashed occurred when a female pedestrian was struck by a car at the junction of West Street and Tudor Road in Southend shortly before 8.30pm on Tuesday.

“Paramedics treated a woman at the scene for minor injuries.”

The driver was spoken to by police but will not face any action over the incident.

The road was blocked for a short period as a result.

I was the passenger in the car that struck the girl. Really thankful that she's ok, hope she's thankful that the driver wasn't speeding. The police and paramedics were excellent, at the scene within minutes. As for the crowd of "mates" that appeared, they weren't particularly helpful. Luckily the girl had a decent friend in amongst them. The driver of the car was really shaken.

definitely..... a crowd of youngsters, boistrious, oblivious to the dangers of moving traffic and how lives can change in a instant, hopefully learnt a valuable lesson....
